Rickey "Rick" L. Brewer
Rick Brewer, 63, passed away peacefully at his home in Broomfield, Colorado on Monday October 9, 2017 after a long battle with cancer.

He is survived by the love of his life Susan, of 29 years; his three sisters; JoAnn "Jodi" Law, Kathe (JR) Nolting, Jeanne (Larry) Moore, as well as nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother Beatrice Brewer, father Kenneth Brewer, brother Larry McEvers, and sister Karen Payne.

He graduated with a BS in Business Administration from Kansas State in 1980, and later earned a Master's degree in Computer Information Systems from University of Denver in 1993.

In his professional career Rick worked diligently with multiple organizations as a Project/Program Manager and Business Systems Analyst.

Rick was an adventurer with many interests and skills who brought exuberance, joy, and a sense of wonder to everything he did. He loved traveling around the world. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed movies, music, skiing, reading, and sports. He was the ultimate organizer/planner and loved spending time with family and friends. One of his favorite places to visit was Sue's dad's farm in Nebraska.

He made a lasting impression on everyone he met, and will be missed by many.

Although there will be no formal service, his life will be celebrated by family and friends who will no doubt recount all the wonderful and fun times they had with Rick.

COME WITH ME
The Lord saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be,
So He put his arms around you
And whispered, “Come with me”

With tearful eyes, we watched you suffer
And saw you fade away,
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating,
A beautiful smile at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove
He only takes the best.

It’s lonesome here without you
We miss you so each day,
Our lives aren’t the same
Since you went away.

When days are sad and lonely,
And everything goes wrong,
We seem to hear you whisper,
“cheer up and carry on.”

Each time we see your picture,
You seem to smile and say,
“Don’t cry, I’m in God’s keeping,
We’ll meet again someday.”
