Obituary for Robert "Bob" Roy

Robert A. Roy, 89, passed peacefully with his loved ones by his side on Friday, November 17, 2017 after a short illness. Bob dedicated several years of his career as a teacher, principal, and administrator in school districts 12, 14, and 50. Following his career in education, he then spent over twenty years with the Environmental Protection Agency. Bob was an avid sports enthusiast; he often spoke of his football and basketball officiating, as well as the many years he spent with the Denver Bronco’s chain crew. Bob enjoyed walking his dog, Molly, and meeting new people in the community, but above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends telling stories that he was known to embellish at times. He is survived by his wife Vicky, his daughters Kathy Gibbons and Sue Feakes, as well as four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Leona Briola Roy, and his daughter Barb Nadorff. Bob will be deeply missed by all. Services will be private. Contributions can be made in his name to Colorado High School Activity Association, 14855 E. 2nd Ave, Aurora, CO 80011.

“We can’t feel saddened over the loss of those we love without first remembering the joy of loving them. The real sadness would have been in never having had them in our lives at all. Remembering is a journey the heart takes. Each time we remember we meet again with those we love, for the heart, never forgets.”
