Michael E.  Engle
Longtime Broomfield resident, Michael E. Engle died Tuesday, November 21, 2017 unexpectedly at his home.
He was born August 28, 1941 in Britton, SD, the son of Cornelius and Carlotta Engle. He attended schools in Missouri, Colorado, and graduated from high school at Corsicana, TX and attended Navarro Junior College in Corsicana.
He moved to Denver in 1966 to attend Colorado School of Trades, located in Lakewood, to hone the craft of gunsmithing.
On September 12, 1971 he married Kathleen Mauritz in the First Baptist Church of Kirn, IA. To this union a son, Justin, and a daughter, Carisa, was born. He also had a son, Shannon, from a previous marriage.
Michael came to know his Lord and was baptized at Northwest Baptist Church in 1974 where he was a longtime member.
He was employed as a machinist for Ball Aerospace for 20 years. He retired from there in 2004. He also taught gunsmithing at Colorado School of Trades.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, repairing classic cars, and jeeps. He was a skilled gunsmith and firearm enthusiast.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association and Colorado Gun Club Association. He encouraged many to become a member of the Whittington Center located near Raton, NM.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy, son Justin, daughter Carisa Engle Kuhns (Roger), son Shannon Hargrove. A brother Frank Engle, Arlington TX. Three grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley Engle, Art Engle, and four sisters, Anita Saunders, Edna Hughes, Becky Hibbes, and Karleen Frietag.
