Wilhemina "Billie" Fleming
Wilhemina “Billie” Magdalene Fleming, a longtime resident of Broomfield, passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 21, 2017. She was 99 years old.
Billie was born in Dunnington, Indiana on November 16, 1918, to Cletus and Kathryn (McIntyre) Steinmetz. She had two brothers and one sister. She was a graduate of Fowler High School Class of 1937. In May of 1942, Billie married John Jay Fleming. Together, they worked in the oil & gas industry. After many moves between the States and Canada, Billie and John settled in Broomfield in 1973. Billie was thrilled to have the Broncos as her football team, and she loved to cheer them on. Billie was also an avid painter, creating landscapes and scenic art. She was also a beloved aunt to all of her nieces and nephews.
Preceding Billie in death were her parents, her husband John, brother Robert Steinmetz, and sister Elizabeth Miller-Windler. She is survived by her brother Cletus Steinmetz, Jr., his wife Patricia, sister in-law Verna Fleming and numerous nieces and nephews.
