Obituary for Ian David McDonald

Ian David McDonald
Ian David McDonald, Dave to his family and many friends, died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 9, 2017. He was born on February 19, 1943 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, the fourth son of Elmore and Dorothy McDonald. There is no easy way or quick summary to describe Dave’s presence or larger than life personality. He was a friend to everyone he met and pursued his passions to the fullest. Loving husband to Nancy Ross McDonald since August 26, 1967, he and Nancy had just celebrated their 50-year wedding anniversary with a family trip toMexico. Amazing father to Shelley McDonald Moore, Christine McDonald, and Ryan McDonald. Spirited and proud grandfather to Cate Moore and Nicholas Moore. Smart, accomplished, and ever entrepreneurial, Dave built a successful executive computer industry career on hard work and never forgetting where he came from. He was truly a self-made man. Woodworker, car enthusiast, budding chef, dance floor master, optimist, scotch taster, technology geek, music lover, extrovert, Sudoku devotee, aspiring painter, and sports fan, Dave was so much fun and always interested in the world and others. He will be truly missed.
