Linda Kathleen Jones, 63, passed away at home with her husband by her side on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, after a two year long struggle with ALS. Linda was born on October 23, 1954 in Beckley WV, the daughter of David Lee and Georgia Louise (Dinkler) Floyd. For the past 23 years, Linda lived in Westminster, CO.

She is survived by her spouse, Jordan Timothy Jones, her son Casey A. Jones, and her daughter Kelly M. Jones. Also surviving Linda are her brother Gary Floyd, sister Mary Lou DeSantis, her mother Georgia Louise Floyd, and a very favorite and close Aunt, Francis Joyce Norcross.

Linda's early years were spent in WV; Beckley, Madison, Mullens and Crab Orchard. At around 8 years old, her family moved to Silver Spring, MD and eventually settled in Beltsville, MD. Linda graduated from High Point High School, Beltsville, MD in 1972. She met her future husband, who always went by Tim, in 1971 and they married in 1974. In the first of several moves during her life, Tim convinced Linda to move to Golden, CO in 1976, and eventually settled in Westminster, CO. In 1980, Linda and Tim moved again to CA and lived in Corona, CA for 9 years. During her time in CA, she gave birth to two beautiful children. Wanting to move closer to family on the east coast while the kids were younger, the family moved to Durham, NC and stayed for 6 years. A job opportunity eventually led the family back to Westminster, CO in 1995. Linda was happy wherever she was and happily followed her nomadic husband without complaint or regrets. She enjoyed the new places and made friends wherever she lived.

One of her greatest joys was gardening and landscaping. While looking at houses to purchase, Linda never paid too much attention to the exterior landscaping. She knew that once she had a house, she would completely redo the yard to her own vision. Each of our four houses benefited tremendously from Linda's green thumb. Later in life, Linda became interested in orchids, and accumulated quite a nice collection. With her attention to detail, many of her orchids bloomed year after year.

Another love was music. Linda loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. She was always singing and was most happy in church when singing along or participating in the choir. Her favorite radio station in the Denver area was K-LOVE, providing Christian music, where Linda would always be singing along. ALS took her sweet voice in the first year, and she dearly missed not being able to continue.

She also loved to bake and cook. During Thanksgiving, Linda became a pie making machine, producing each family members favorite dessert. Her crumb coffee cake was a husband favorite. As ALS took away her ability to eat, she still tried to enjoy small portions of her favorite chocolates and ice cream. Even a little bit brought a big smile to her face. The box of chocolate she received last Christmas was a challenge for her to consume and it took several months to finish. She would end up with chocolate all over her face, but a huge smile as well from the enjoyment of still being able to enjoy the taste.

Linda was a joy to be around. She never had a harsh word to say about anybody and never stooped to using foul language. She always tried to find the good in people, regardless of what they did to her. Her smile was one of her best features, well that and her sparkling eyes. Even in adversity, the smile stayed on her face. She loved her family scattered all over the country and even in these electronic times, still felt the need to send birthday and other holiday cards. She always wanted that personal touch.

Linda worked in many different industries during her life. She had a strong work ethic and was meticulous with detail. She never hesitated to contribute or put in extra hours when needed. She loved her final position as a Purchasing Assistant with Envysion in Louisville, CO and was proud and excited to be a part of this start up company's successful growth. ALS forced her to leave under disability much earlier than she wanted.

As ALS took from Linda each of her abilities, she never complained, but tried to adapt as best she could. Her faith in the Lord was absolute, and she is with our Lord now.
