Mary Jean Peketz
Mary Jean (Martine) Peketz passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones on July 18th at the age of 91. Born in Plymouth County, Iowa, February 12, 1927, Mary Jean was raised in LeMars, Iowa by her parents Frank and Irene Martine. She attended Westmar College and worked in Sioux City before coming to Denver, CO in 1952.

Mary Jean served as secretary and treasurer at the Broomfield United Methodist Church for over 13 years while keeping a watchful eye over her children. Mary Jean finished her career working for Eggelhof Incorporated retiring in 1997. She was a warm, creative and soulful woman who encouraged her family to be hardworking and resilient. Analytical in nature, Mary Jean could solve any puzzle you put in front of her, but especially loved doing the Sunday crossword in pen.

She is survived by her three sons, David L. Peketz, Westminster; John T. Peketz, McKinney, TX; James A. Peketz, Broomfield; grandchildren Jacki Peketz Keithline (Martin Keithline), Rene Peketz, Sam Peketz (Josie Peketz), Grace Peketz, Sydney Peketz and Alexa Peketz; brother, C.F. “Marty” Martine (Sharon Martine).

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 28th at 10:30 a.m. at the Broomfield United Methodist Church followed by a reception at Eagle Trace Golf Club.

An Honor fund has been established in Mary Jean’s name. In lieu of flowers, please send a check to the Rocky Mountain Conservancy or donate online at https://rmconservancy.org/product/donation/.
