Obituary for Robert L. Davis

Robert L. Davis
Robert Lee Davis, of Broomfield, passed away on July 21, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was 88 years old.

Robert was born in Anthon, Iowa, on May 24, 1930, to Russell Charles Davis and Ethel A. (Ronfeldt) Davis. After high school and some college he joined the Army and served during the Korean War. After his time in the Army, he became a State Farm insurance agent that served the public for 28 years.

Robert married Charlotte (Lee) Davis on April 19, 1953 and together they had four children.

Robert was very active in the community; he was a member of the Broomfield Chamber of Commerce, served on the board for the Broomfield Veterans Museum and served a term as President of Senior Resource of Broomfield where he also volunteered for Meals on Wheels until the age of 83. He was a faithful member of the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church and held multiple offices, including VP Treasurer, Financial Secretary and served on the Boards of Elders, Trustees, Evangelism and Stewardship. He was a 2010 Heart of Broomfield award recipient and also enjoyed woodworking, gardening and fishing.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and grandson, Richard.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; children, Rebecca Kay Hazen, Robert L. Davis Jr, Ann Marie Carson, and Cheryl Lee Young; grandchildren, Patrick Hazen, Aaron Hazen, Benjamin Davis, Kristin Davey, Megan Roberto, Scott Carson, Alisa McChristian, Lindsey Carson, Andrew Carson, Delaney Young and 13 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 6995 W 120th Ave, Broomfield, CO 80020 followed at 10 a.m. by a memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, you can make memorial contributions in honor of Robert to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church School, the Broomfield Senior Center Endowment Fund, or the Broomfield Veterans Memorial Museum.
