The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of William Wingert can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Family Life

 

Bill was born in Erie, PA, and lived there until the 3rd grade. He then moved to Syracuse, NY, where he lived until Junior High. Syracuse was his favorite place to live as he had fond memories of summer vacations in Canada!!   His family moved to Evansville, Indiana where he aspent his early high school years. His family then moved and he graduated from Broomfield High School in "Colorful Colorado". Bill attended community college for a while but left to join the working world. He spent his adulthood working in various machine shops eventually landing a job with Coors Technical Ceramics Manufacturing. In 1978 Bill was severly injured in a motor vehicle accident and spent many years in an assisited living home in Colorado Springs, Colorado where he developed a taste for spicy foods. He was affectionately known as "Spiceman" because of the variety of spices that lined his wheelchair. Bill has a brother and two sisters living in Pennsylvania, Maine and Colorado. His parents continued to live in Broomfield. His mom, Rosemary visited as often as she could and was in constant phone contact  with Bill until her death in 2016.
