Obituary for Jacquelyn Holsopple

Jacquelyn  Holsopple
Jacquelyn “Jackie” Holsopple passed away on Monday, October 15, 2018, at the age of 69 with her final breaths being taken with the comfort of her family around her.

Born in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, Jackie spent her childhood and college years on the East Coast. She attended Salem College in West Virginia where she followed her passion in teaching by obtaining her Bachelors in Education and continued her higher education at the University of West Virginia where she started her Masters Degree.

After Jackie married her college sweetheart, William “Bill” Holsopple, they had four beautiful children and settled in Broomfield, Colorado in 1989 after short stints in Louisiana and California.

A loving mother and homemaker, Jackie was a remarkable cook/baker and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, especially during the holiday season. Over the years, Jackie collected a large library of cookbooks and generational recipes that will be shared in her memory. Family and friends were always Jackie’s top priority and wonderful memories have been shared throughout the decades including camping adventures and numerous trips to Celestial Seasonings and Rocky Mountain National Park.

Jackie was preceded in death by her son (Andrew Holsopple), brother (Richard McCullough), and parents (Thomas and Mona McCullough).

Jackie is survived by her husband of 46 years (William Holsopple), son (Jonathan Holsopple), daughters (Kathryn Gunn, Megan Holsopple), 2 grandchildren (Jake and Ellie Gunn), and sisters (Janice Sassaran and Karen Sweitzer). She will also forever be remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended-family, and dear friends.

A Celebration of Life for Jackie will be held at 10 am on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Rundus Funeral Home, 1998 W 10th Ave, Broomfield, CO 80020. A reception is scheduled at an offsite location immediately following services and open to anyone (14801 Gaylord St., Thornton, CO 80602).
